The Bone Lord

While excavating tunnels under New Jersey to lay some new gas and power lines, two city workers stumbled upon an ancient temple buried far beneath the city. Despite knowing they should turn back, their curiosity got the better of them and they pressed forward. As they moved further into the temple they found more and more demonic imagery until they came upon a tomb at the end of the main chamber.

Wanting to see if there was any treasure locked within, one of the workers pried open the intricately designed tomb. Unfortunately, what they found was far from ancient gold or gems. What lay inside was a creature from time immemorial. A creature wrapped in a cloak of distorted, skinned human faces that hide his true form. The only features of the body underneath that shown through was a floating skull and six bone spurs spitting out black, noxious smoke.

With but a glance he rewarded those who unwilling freed him with a quick, painless death. He then ascended to the surface to see what had become of the world since he was locked away. What he found was a world overrun with weak humans reliant on technology to do even the most basic of things. This made his already burning hatred of humans even more heated and he redoubled his ancient vow to wipe them all from the face of the Earth.

He started his new campaign by focusing on the one so-called "superhero" that personified this new age of technology, Silver Star. With his defeat, The Bone Lord could show just how helpless humanity is before him with even their greatest achievements meaning less than nothing. The fear and despair would make for a delightful feast before he wiped them all from the face of this world.

With his goal in mind, the timeless evil set out in search of Silver Star and waged an epic battle with them that spanned several blocks of New York City. Though his magic was very powerful, Silver Star’s tech was a more formidable foe than he had anticipated and the two battled to a stand still under The Bone Lord disappeared to regroup and further study his opponent until he could crushed the hero’s armored head under his clawed foot.

Thus the battled between magic and technology began with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
