Sunny Sullivan

Despite her positive sounding name, Sunny's life had never been one of rainbows and unicorns. She was the product of a rather amorous summer fling her mother had with a Chinese foreign exchange student when she was just a little older than her. This unexpected surprise caused a rift between her mother and grandparents and while they never disowned her or Sunny herself, they weren't exactly the most kind and loving people themselves.

Their lack of compassion led to Sunny becoming rather withdrawn and abrasive despite the efforts of her mother. Eventually she found her place in the goth under culture like most disaffected teens though she claims to do it ironically. Mostly to try to avoid being a cliche even if she does play the part to a T.

Her attitude problem is not helped the fact that despite bring a single parent her mother finished school and actually become a rather well respected lawyer dealing primarily with child custody hearings and making sure orphaned children find a good home. To Sunny it just seemed like her mother liked spending more time with kids other than her.

So when she was pulled into the Digital World she little concern at how her mother would react to her being gone because she seriously doubt she *would* notice she was gone. Instead she focused her dour attitude into dealing with her partner Digimon Floramon who was almost total opposite.

Whereas Sunny is snarky and bitter, Floramon is kind spoken and cheery and always ready to offer an optimistic word of advice or a shoulder to lean on. No matter how dire a situation may look she's always able to see the silver lining and know that things will work out for the best.

Naturally Sunny finds this attitude completely grating and annoying but at the same time can't help but secretly admire the plunky little Digimon for never letting life get her down.

Not that she would ever admit that of course.
