Noir

Ever since he was a young boy, Danny Holt loved solving mysteries and discovering how things worked. He would go through entire mystery novels in a day and usually figure out who had done it half way through. He pulled the same trick on mystery movies as well, much to the chargrin of the rest of his family.

Despite this knack little quirk, he still loved those kinds of stories, in particular the old film noir style detective movies. He spent much of his childhood pretending to be one of those detectives and knew right then that he was going to be one for real.

At first he had thought about joining the police force, but he found that a bit too restricting and not enough fun. He wanted to live the more romantized life of a detective; going into sleazy bars and shaking down two bit snitches for information. Things that weren't really in the police handbook.

So he pulled together some money to start up his own private investigation industry in Hope City, a place looking for several good men and women to tackle the city's many unsolved mysteries. Of course he also knew the city was full of rather unsavory times that didn't care for good minded folks snooping around their business and wouldn't hestiate to come said person's home and attack them. Which of course would put a crimp in the whole solving crimes thing.

With that in mind, Danny created a costumed identity for himself, drawing inspiration from those old film noir stories he loved as a child and dubbed himself Noir. Though never one for formal attire he was able to pull together a look that called back to those detectives of yesteryear while still retaining a nice, casual atmosphere.

During his first case he crossed patch with another detective, this one from the HCPD's 12th prescinct, Detective Sara Carr. Though initially taking back by his look and the department's general unease of P.I.'s, she was nevertheless impressed with his problem solving skills and worked with him to solve the case. Since then the two have worked on and off on many occassions to the point where Noir refers to her as his unofficial partner even if Sara herself doesn't see it that way. Still she can't deny they have made an effective pair and have brought in many criminals and brought peace to several distraught families which makes it all worth it.

Though she still doesn't get the outfit.
