Ms. America

When she was tweleve-years-old, Glory Applegate suffered from a rare hormonal imbalance that looked her body in its prepebucant state. Although she went through the other parts of purberty, her body never physically changed. As such she had to carry a copy of her birth certificate with to show that she WAS in face old enough to drive a car, go to college or even see an R-rated movie by herself.

Despite being VERY frustrated with the situation, she still did her best to live as normal a life as possible and not let it get her down. She mostly did this by buring herself in her studies and trying to do the best she could in school, particuarly in her favorite subject; history.

It was actually coming out of here World War II history class in college that she saw a flyer in the hallway searching for volunteers for an experiment. Knowing she could use the money she decided to partake in it, figuring she had nothing to lose.

Little did she know, that casual decision would change her life. It turned out the experiment was actually a front for a group of scientists trying to activate latant Neo-Genes in her and the others they had picked.

While nothing seemed odd at first, Glory was awoken one night by a tremendous pain shooting through her body. Just as her body started to grow bigger and stronger her room suddenly filled with gass and she passed out again.

The next conscious thought she had was being held by the collar be Vigilant several feet in the air. It turned out that not only were the scientists trying to activate Neo-Genes, they also brainwashed her and the others as soon as their powers had manifested to use a strike force against the hero.

Once she was awake, however, she quickly came to her senses and helped Vigilant take down her new friends as harmlessly as possible. After they were all subdued they were all brought aboard The Observatory where they were tested for any lingering effects from the brainwashing or tests done on them.

It was around this time that Glory finally got to fully examine her new body which had grown a foot and a half, making her just a bit over six feet tall and given her quite an impressive bust. One she had quite a bit of fun with for awhile before finally getting used to them. She also discovered that her actual Neo-Human powers included super strength, invurenability and the ability to fire energy blasts from her hands.

Knowing she could use her new powers to help people instead of hurt them like originally intended, she got together with the rest of the kids in the group as well as Major Havok, the head of The Protectors, and talked about them all being a new superhero group. After a rather long discussion the agreement was reached that they could be a team as long as they had a World Watch liason watching over them.

They agreed to the condition and soon enough the six former college students were set up in outskrts of Apollo City as the latest super team: Generation Next! For her own superhero identity, Glory drew partly upon a childhood dream of being in the Miss America pagent but mostly from her love of history and in particular the WWII hero Ms. Liberty and so named herself the patroitically themed Ms. America!

Now along with her teammates she uses her awesome new powers to help as many people as she can in honor of all the heroes who had come before her.
