Barbara hummed along to the song playing on her I-Pod as she flipped through the text book in her hands. She had gotten use to wearing the ear pieces to help drown out the hetic background noise of the dorm, but while she was staying in Ivy's greenhouse she didn't really need them. It was a peaceful look place where Ivy could go to get away from everything and "let her hair down" so to speak. Though since she usually took this time to walk around her in Poison Ivy form it more like letting her hair up. Either way, it was a place where she could find some real peace and quiet so she could concentrate on her studies.

That is until two vines came up to yank the tiny speakers out of her ears as she had an magazine cover shoved right in her face.

"What the HELL is this?!" Ivy shouted, her voice seeming to echo off the glass walls.

Barbara didn't answer right away because she was too distracted by the vines and shrubs shaking furiously to reflect the anger of their mistress. It set her battle ready relfects on edge it and took all she had not to tense up in prepration for a big fight. When she finally took her eyes off the angery sneer covering Ivy's green face, they trailed down to look at the cover of the latest issue of "Hero Gossip" that showed a picture of herself dressed as Batgirl being carried by Supergirl complete with her arms wrapped around the blonde's shoulder for support. While the photo itself was rather questionable it was the bold red headline that made the whole thing seem horrible:

THE BATGIRL/SUPERGIRL CONNECTION

It was followed by a blurb in smaller, yellow laters that made things even worse.

Has Batgirl Left Poison Ivy for the Girl of Steel?

Barbara's eyes widened and her jaw fell open in shock as she ripped the magazine out of Ivy's hands to glare at it herself.

"What the HELL is this?!" she screamed as she bolted up from the chair.

"That's what I asked you Red," Ivy growled, her fists still shaking a bit.

Barbara turned her head towards the green girl and finally seemed to take in the fact that she was very upset over the whole thing.

"This is not what it looks like!" she defended herself as she held out the magazine.

"So then it's not a picutre of you in Supergirl's arms?"

"Okay, yeah, that part is true but that was only after I feel off a 22 story building!"

"Hmph!" Ivy snorted a she crossed her arms over her chest and turned her back on the other girl.

"Oh come on Red you can't possibly believe this! These sleaze mags will print anything. I mean, why are you even reading this anyway?! It's the super hero equvilant of 'Us' or 'Inquire' or a thousand other celeberty gossip rags. I know you're smart enough not to believe that."

"And what am I suppose to believe, huh?!" the other redhead snapped as she spun back around on her heel.

"How about you believe the fact that I love you and wouldn't cheat on you with anyone."

Ivy raised an accusing finger and opened her mouth to say something else but she stopped and stood still. Her eyes glanced to the right as she tried to think of something but after a few seconds she finally let out a sigh and slumped over a bit.

"Fine, you're right," she admitted, suddenly feeling foolish. "I'm sorry Red. I just...I guess I freaked a bit."

"A bit?" Barbara asked, as she arched an eyebrow.

"Alright fine, a lot!" the plant girl cried out a she threw her arms in the air then walked over to the couch and fell down on it.

The other Red shook her head, then tossed the magazine over her shoulder before she made her way over to the couch as well to sit down next to her girlfriend. She wrapped an arm around Ivy's shoulder and pulled her close.

"Look, you and I both know Kara and I are close. I mean we're roommates so that helps out a lot and we do like a lot of the same thing and have the whole "-girl" superhero name thing going on," Barbara started then lifted Ivy's chin so she could look her in the eyes. "But as close as we are, it's nowhere near as close as we are."

The green eyes quivered a bit as they stared into the brown ones filled with so much love and concern. It made her feel horrible for ever having doubted them and the girl they were attached to. The guilt made her look away in shame.

"I know," Ivy whispered. "But I just..." she forced herself to look at Barbara again. "Red, you're the best thing that every happened to me. Even above getting my powers. And I guess there's just always going to be a small part of me that doesn't believe I desreve to have you in my life."

Barbara rolled her eyes and shook her head in amusement.

"Well then that part of you is a huge liar," she said. "I know you've done some bad things in the past, heck half the time I was one of the ones stopping you, but you've put those things behind you. You're doing the right thing and getting better at it everyday. Even some of the other heroes are starting to like you too."

"Really?" Ivy asked, hopefully.

"Yeah. Even Batman's starting to believe you've actually turned over a new leaf."

They stared awkwardly at each other for a moment.

"Uh...sorry, I just-"

Ivy held up her hand and shook her head. "Don't worry about it. Not the first time I heard it. Probably won't be the last either."

"Well I'll try not to say it in the future."

The redhead nodded and the two held each other as they sat in a comfortable silence for a minute or so.

"So are we cool?" Barbara asked.

"Yeah," Ivy replied then lifted her head to give the other redhead a quick kiss. "Again sorry about that. I'll try to control myself in the future."

"That's fine. Just tell me you didn't tear up the store when you saw that mag."

"Well...I wouldn't exactly say I tore it up but...well...let's just say a few of the potted flowers in the floral section got up and walked out on their own."

Barbara sighed and shook her head again. "You've got learn to control that."

Ivy shrugged. "Eh, later. Right now I think I'll just sit right here."

"Yeah that's good. I was pretty much done studying anyway. Wanna see what's on TV?"

"Only if it's HGTV."

"You and your plant shows," the redhead smirked as she turned on the TV and got more comfortable on the couch.

Sure she knew she probably should be doing more studying but being curled up on the couch with the girl she loved beat trugding through some old history book any day.
Just to show off that I actually HAVE been able to write *something* thought I'd post this little scene I wrote up and posted on the KP Slash Haven first. Just a bit more fun with Batgirl(as just Barbara) with Poison Ivy. Hope whoever's reading it here enjoys it.
