Lovely Magical Solider King

Even before her current heroic career, Shin Preston didn't exactly lead a completely normal life. She is the daughter of world renowned archaeologists/adventures Kim Preston and Sheila Drago, who actually started off as rivals. The story of two rivals eventually falling in love and settling down to start a family isn't exactly a strange concept, especially if popular movies are any indication, but it is a little different when the two parents are both women. And that their child is biologically both theirs due to magical shenanigans from an ancient artifact they were both looking for.

But that was indeed Shin's story which already made her life unique. She did try to have a normal life and had a few good friends in high school and was even a star player in the girl's basketball team. Unfortunately, having to explain her home life was always a bit tricky, especially her two toned hair which many attributed to hair dye and would never believe it was natural. Which suited her just fine but it was much harder to answer when they asked who her father was since her father was actually her other mother.

But it was exactly this unique parentage that caused her to brought to the attention of Lady Eternity, the living embodiment of Earth's magic. She called Shin, along with four other girls, to her hidden sanctuary to recruit them to keep the Earth safe from an invading force from another magical realm. When asked why she needed them she explained that she could not directly engaged the source of this invasion as energies released from their fight would shatter both dimensions and so they both needed to chose champions to represent them. The five were chosen because they had great magical potential locked inside them.

Of course being the daughter of magic, Shin had the most inner power and so was named the leader of the team. A role she wasn't as pleased to take as Lady Eternity thought she would be. Also for all the vaulted power she was told she had all she can do at the moment is create and launch ethereal green flames but she was reassured that her true power would reveal itself when it was needed. A thought she found less than comforting.

She was also not very fond of the theme Lady Eternity chose for their group. For whatever reason she went with the pieces of a chessboard and being that Shin was the most important "piece" she was dubbed Lovely Magical Soldier King. A title that led to no small amount of harassment from her teammates and even the people she saved. Most of whom usually ended up looking at her skirt to see if she did indeed of the "equipment" of a king.

Despite that little hang up, however, Shin does her best to live up to the new responsibilities she had been given and keep the Earth safe from invading forces while also trying to manage her teammates and live a normal teenage life.

She's not sure she's doing any of those very well.
